Maine Outsider: Invite 142 // Oct 21

Invite 142 // Oct 21

What are you going to be for Halloween?

It’s a standard question this time of year, and one I hadn’t considered even once until a friend with kids asked me last week.

I’m in a specific window of life where Halloween is easy to forget. I’m not a kid, I don’t have kids, and a bar or house party leaves me cold. Yet, there’s a nostalgia and playfulness to this time of year that I miss.

Luckily, this week’s newsletter delivers, from jack-o’-lantern hikes to night bike rides through a cemetery. There’s a slew of festive outdoor events for those of us who want a spooky experience without the costume, the crowd, or the cover charge.

See ya out there.
